Deirdre Burke lives and works in a small studio in co Wicklow. Deirdre graduated in the College of marketing and design, finally receiving her honors degree in fine art printmaking, under the tutelage of Alice Hanratty, Joe Hanley and Michael Kane. In the summer of 1997 she took up a brush and started to paint after a spell of nine years, and has been painting in oils ever since.

Her main subjects and themes are based on the Vernacular, be it buildings boats language. She has exhibited in many group shows over the years, but mainly working on a commission basis.
