Biography
Orla Cahill is an Irish artist and designer living in County
Kildare. Her paintings consist of works in various media such
as: oils, acrylics, gouache, watercolours and pastels. She
also has a number of drawings in pencil and charcoal. Orla is
also a well-known milliner who has made exclusive hats and
headpieces for private and corporate clients as well as
commissions for film and television.
She worked as an Art
teacher in a number of schools in the midlands after graduating
with Diploma for Art, Craft & Design Teachers from The Limerick
School of Art & Design (LSAD). Orla then took up a position
as a designer in the Textile manufacturing industry for many
years in Dublin having graduated from Textile Design at the
GMIT (Galway/Mayo Institute of Technology) prior to attending
the LSAD. Since then she has received a BSc (Hons.) Degree
in Multimedia from Dublin City University (DCU) as well as
an MSc (Hons.) Degree in Electronic Commerce Business Management,
also from DCU.
