Biography

Originally from Finglas in Dublin I have been living in Connemara for ten years. My work is a response to bogscapes and seascapes of the area.

My interest in textiles has led me to experiment with various constructive and decorative techniques. Sometimes visitors to Connemara only obtain fleeting impressions of the area's visual richness and depth. It can be perceived as inaccessible because the elements of rain, wind, mist, fog and cloud can conceal aspects of the environment and make it difficult to explore. The colours and tones are constantly changing and there is always a transient quality to the landscape. I would like to offer access to the visual drama of this distinctive place.

I have been exhibiting my work in Ireland, Belfast and the U.S.A. since 2002. I am a member of The Atlantic Artists Group. We ran a gallery as a cooperative venture from 2003 to 2006 and exhibit regularly. My work can be found in private collections in Ireland, UK, USA and Singapore.
