Ann Martin is a narrative artist who works through direct observation of the natural scene. She is American Irish (b. 1947) living and working in West Cork since 1983. She began her career as a reportorial artist covering political trials in the United States, culminating with the Senate Watergate Hearings, Washington D.C.
She creates her work on location, gathering the exacting detail that fills her paintings with life. Her studio is based in Kilcoe, Skibbereen, County Cork.
