Through the medium of oil on canvas, I primarily paint magical-realism artworks which are inspired by my 35 years working in the 'Healing Arts'-chiropractic, craniosacral, colourlight therapy, reiki, qigong. Now as a visual artist, what I attempt to create with each colourful brushstroke is an expression of beauty, mystery and healing all within a story.

Archetypal characters in the story are accessed through meditation, self-hypnosis and shamanic journeying. Archetypes represent universal patterns, primal symbols and images that are part of the collective unconscious. We find archetypes in fairytales, myths, events and character types that are remarkably recurrent throughout human experience. Bringing this recognition to the conscious mind, we are reminded of how interconnected all human beings are. This allows viewers to transcend feelings of separation and isolation.

I grew up in Massachusetts, USA and as a child attended art classes. I loved to draw and paint nature and was also infatuated with the dreamy magic of fairytales and myths. I moved to Ireland 20 years ago. After years of not producing art, living on the beautiful Dingle Peninsula awakened my desire to paint again.
