Having always lived by the sea, presently Clontarf, it has influenced much of my art. I have sculpted and painted for my own pleasure on and off for many years and began painting seriously in 2016.
Informed by my interest in classical studies, nature and science, as well as a career in dress and interior design, painting gives me a new way to express myself that hopefully elicits an emotional response.
Specialising in abstract and figurative art, I paint in oil and acrylic, encompassing themes of movement, light and texture. Using pallet knife and brush, I work to achieve a sculptural effect by structured layering of paint in saturated colour and white, evolving depth, which helps to pull the viewer into the work.
