Irish Artist Aran Devereux, working under the pseudonym Aarcanum embarked on his first Irish solo exhibition at Gallery X in February of this year.
Aarcanum is primarily a painter, who in recent years has taken an interest in process based work. Through his work he explores the therapeutic benefits of creative expression and its capacity for trauma titration. He is heavily interested in consciousness studies, the esoteric and mysticism. His most recent works are orientated around the fundamental reasoning of non-local consciousness.
Born in Ireland Aaron spent his formative years in Australia. He studied Visual Art at Edith Cowan University in Perth, Western Australia and continued his studies at Curtain University, also in Perth. He had his first solo exhibition in Perth in 2001 at the Moore's Contemporary Art Building in Fremantle, W.A. Since then he has shown in numerous exhibitions in Ireland and Australia. Aacanum launched a successful first Dublin solo exhibition at Gallery X in February of this year. Aarcanum is a professional member of The Visual Artists Association of Ireland, The United Arts Club and The Contemporary Irish Artist Society.
