Irish artist Benny McLaughlin, Donegal and England

I am originally from Glencolmcille, Co Donegal. I currently live in Birmingham, England. The inspiration for my paintings comes from the landscape of County Donegal and surrounding areas but in particular the rugged and beautiful landscape of Glencolmcille. I started painting after a bout of illness which left me unable to work. Every time I venture back to Glencolmcille I find new ideas for my paintings. I mainly paint in watercolours but on occasion use oils, acrylic and pencils.

Irish Art, New Visual Art, online since 2000
