Originally from Kilkenny, I graduated from Waterford Institute of Technology with a qualification in Design and Communications in 1980 and I have worked as a senior graphic designer and studio manager in Cork since then.
For as long as I can remember I've had a passion for drawing and sketching but sadly that side of my creativity took a back seat for too many years until I happened upon an art class about two years ago where I discovered and fell in love with paint! I work mainly in oils and I have a fascination with old and expressive faces. At the moment my subject matter ranges from portraits of people, to more frequently, portraits of dogs and pigs. I enjoy trying to capture the character and depth of feeling in expressions, time just evaporates when I'm at the easel and on a roll.
I work mainly from photographs and welcome enquiries for commissions.
Thank you for taking the time to view my work. I hope you enjoy looking at it as much I enjoy producing it.
