Brigid Shelly lives in Ardmore, Co. Waterford and is is a graduate of St. Mary's University College, Twickenham (Bachelors) and of Trinity College, Dublin.(Masters). Having had a career in teaching she is now a full time registered artist. She developed her painting style for eight years in the 1990s under the watchful and talented eye of well known Belfast artist Desmond Turner RUA. Already this year, Brigid has been featured on RTE's 'Ear to the Ground' Television programme, interviewed on RTE radio's flagship Arts Programme, 'Arena' as well as on RTE's 'Farm Week' with Donna O'Sullivan, and has been featured in the Irish Daily Mail and the Independent Newspapers. Filming for RTE's 'Spirit Level' has also taken place and is due to air in the Autumn. She loves painting cows, and has seen many of them travelling off to America, France, Germany and the United Kingdom as well as hanging with Dairygold, Department of Agriculture, Bothar, Cork Marts, Teagasc, Glanbia, Darina Allen amongst many others here in Ireland. Although she is best known for her cows, she does paint landscapes and children too.
