Irish Painter, Claire Lyons

Dr. Claire Lyons, originally from Dublin lives in Galway city. By profession a teacher, by nature a creative artist, has won prizes for her publications (fiction as Gaeilge) and poetry - a natural out growth of this was painting. My inspiration is the ancient myths of Ireland which I studied in University, my eternal quest is to visually represent the intangible and spiritual quality of those myths and hence the variety of my subject matter.

I have had two exhibitions of my work in Galway. My work was also chosen to be exhibited at the Westport Arts Festival. I prefer oils because of its mallability. I sign my work ClaireL.
