I live in the Moy, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. I have just recently started to promote my artwork which consists of mainly acrylics and pencil on canvases as my medium. I concentrate on the human form, and use it to evoke mood and emotion. To me, art is an enigma which wants to be solved. It invites viewers to analyse, scrutinise and interpret it endlessly to decipher its true meaning. Art is one person's perspective, an expression of emotion, something that challenges and forces others to look twice. I have always had a love and passion for art. From an early age, it was evident I had a naturally gifted, artistic ability. It was the subject I excelled in, maintaining an 'A' grade throughout my school years. After A-Levels, I advanced into university life to pursue a career in architecture at the School of Architecture and Design, University of Ulster, subsequently achieving a BA Honours qualification, followed by a year's placement working with Milligan Reside Larkin, Chartered Architects. Even though I gained invaluable experience, I felt that art, my true passion, was not adequately fulfilled by architecture. Following many sleepless nights and discussions with family and friends, I decided to embark upon a new direction in my life, by pursuing a career in art.
