Irish artist Conor O'Connell, Roscommon

Originally from Ballaghaderreen, Co. Roscommon, Conor is a Final Year Student in NCAD, Dublin, studying Fine Art Painting and Education. His painting practice focuses on documenting contemporary life through a representational painting style and his work is often introspective, informed by his surroundings, his interests and experiences. Themes in his work include ancient history, nature and psychology, and frequently takes the form of a self portrait- be it literal or in the form of assemblages of objects/still lives.

Conor has exhibited his work in group shows throughout the country including Cairde Visual, Sligo, the Royal Hibernian Academy, Art Riddler and the Boyle Arts Festival.
