Irish artist Dick Byrne, Galway

Dick Byrne is a well known writer and painter in the West of Ireland.

For many years he ran his own architectural practice until he retired in 2002. He divides his time between his home in Craughwell, Co Galway and Puisserguier in the South of France where he has a small village house.

In the past he ran the Galway School of Painting with his friend, the late Derek Biddulph who was one of Galway's best known artists.

He has written over 30 plays, one of which was performed by the Abbey Theatre Company. He has published two novels and an autobiography.
