Artist Helen Condon, Cork

I never imagined I would be able to dedicate some of my time to art. However my kids are now teenagers and this gave me the opportunity to actively pursue my love of painting. In 2013 I took an advanced art class and from then on I was committed. I live and work in Cork City. I'm inspired by what I see in everyday life. Cork city features a lot in my work. I am inspired by other artists. Color makes me happy. Every new painting is a new challenge and my style is evolving as I go.

Capturing the feel of a place, a moment, or something special gives me such pleasure. I recently started painting dog portraits which I love doing. The eyes are the most important part of these paintings as they bring the portrait to life.
