Irish artist Karen Hickey, Kildare

In 2006 I began taking courses in Life Drawing and Portrait Drawing.

Over these last 12 years I have participated in many Art workshops, all of them very freeing and fun but also very informative on how to approach art in many different ways.

I like to work with many different media including charcoal, pencil, chalk and oil pastels, watercolour and acrylic paint. In September 2016 I began a course in Drawing and Painting the Figure at the National College of Art and Design. An academic course including the study of the Great Masters of the Arts.

I exhibited work at the Electric Picnic Festival 2017 and have a selection of my work hanging at the Google offices at Grand Canal Dock in Dublin. My solo show at the Signal Art Centre begins on 30 April 2018 and runs for 2 weeks.

Showing original Irish art, online and Worldwide (since 2000)
