Polish artist Kasia Jones, Poland and Dublin

Kasia is living in the leafy suburb of Dublin with her husband, sons and a black cat. She has recently focused on painting trees and rocks.

'When I look at trees, I don't just see them with my eyes - I feel them with my heart. I have the urge to touch their bumpy bark to connect with them, to try and realise what they felt growing from a seed into what they are now. I have respect for them and I know that without them my life wouldn't be as rich. I sense their magic and I want to learn it from them. When I start the process of painting trees I never know where it will take me, the end result is so much more than a physical representation of a tree. It's filled with energy vibrations and "magical realism", the lines and colours form shapes that one can make out according to their own beliefs and imagination. I don't want to define the tree, I want it to change with every viewer.'
