Irish artist Kieran McElhinney, Dublin

I was born and raised in Dublin. I started to draw as a toddler as my Father was a printer and provided endless amounts of paper. I have a Diploma in Commercial Art but never worked in the industry. Instead I painted and drew my favourite subjects which were wildlife and landscapes. I painted in watercolours and did etchings for many years but gave it all up for over 15 years as work and Kids took over my time. Now retired, I paint in oils mainly from my own photos and sketches. I get most pleasure from subjects that are to be found on my own doorstep.
