Luca Guerzoni, The UK, Italian Artist

Luca is a dedicated, amateur artist who is drawn to exploring subjects and ideas through dry media, particularly graphite, which he is attracted to by its instinctiveness, power of expression and synthesis. The challenge of communicating a world of colour in grayscale is of particular interest.

Luca's statement
I use drawings as a way of presenting thoughts, concepts and questions I reflect upon. I feel that the simplicity and immediacy of grayscale drawing gives both centre stage to the content of what I draw and space for the viewer to create their own interpretations of the subject.

The beauty of images and the power of words, which I sometimes combine in my drawings, are my other main sources of inspiration. Here too, the light-touch of drawing allows both beauty and power to present themselves to the viewer unfiltered.
