Marta is a self taught artist. She studied Irish Law and worked in the banking sector prior to the discovery of her true calling, painting. Marta made her first painting in 2015 and has sold many painting since, her art found homes across the whole Ireland as well as UK, Poland, Switzerland, Germany and USA. Marta does not re - create the reality, she does not source her inspiration from the visible world. All of Marta's paintings come from within her - they are an expression of emotional states, deep feelings and spiritual concepts. Marta's main inspiration are people, their stories, their feelings as well as her own life experiences.
Marta does not believe that as an artist she is required to limit herself to one particular form or subject. She perceives art as the extension of human soul which is as deep and as changeable as the sea and the sky. Marta painted many commissioned pieces which told families' stories in a very abstract and coded way. She spends a lot of time chatting to her customers, listening to their life stories in order to created paintings that are very personal. She made paintings for people going through difficulties such as serious illness, loss of a loved one, loss of a baby, miscarriage. The purpose of these paintings was to give the people strength, hope and light, an every day injection of positive energy. As well as that Marta made large number of paintings evolving around motherhood, abstract family portraits, paintings capturing special moments in a mother's life such as breastfeeding of which she is a big supporter.
In 2016 Marta donated five original paintings to the children hospital in Crumlin to help create more oxytocin friendly aura in the rooms where mothers express their milk for their sick little ones. Marta also raised EUR 870 through selling prints of her art work and donated it towards buying a hospital grade electric breast pump for the hospital.
Marta has been painting every day for a year now and there is no way of stopping her.
