Paul's projects often consists of multiple works, often in a range of different media, grouped around specific themes and meanings. My artistic practice is engaged with social, cultural and identity stemming from feelings, dreams, and memories and considers his work as a journey through life. His works have been included in group shows throughout Mayo and solo shows in Cacela Vahla, Portugal, Bray, Co Wicklow, Gallery 27, in Dublin and The Hyde Bridge Gallery, Sligo. He also has had various commissions and publications.
The exhibitions purpose is to convey a scenario by providing paintingsin Abstract Expressionism form, which represents what is being felt from the inside rather than the outside. The creativity within his paintings are meant to let the viewer develop new imaginations, grab the interest and entice an emotional response from the viewer letting the viewer piece together the works for their own perception and understanding, each viewer takes something a little different from the same painting.
Paul as always been fascinated by the Irish Wetlands/bogs. Ireland's peat bogs are valued landscapes and places of unique flora and fauna, they feature throughout Irish history, art, music and folklore, they appear to be ever present and never ending. It's topography which is transformed by ever changing light, at times crammed or lost in dejection, sometimes standing full of pride with an impression of poignant restraint, calmness, wellbeing and ruggedness.
