Irish artist Paula Hynes, Westmeath

I'm a self-taught artist living in Ireland. Almost every day I can be found painting in my home studio in Delvin, County Westmeath. I began to draw and paint in 2015. Formerly an adult educator, yoga teacher and holistic therapist, art has become an integral gift of the second half of my life and I've been on a path of play and discoveries ever since. Throughout my life I've always been drawn to colour, texture and vibrancy. Working with acrylics, mixed media and oils I am happiest using large brushes, palette knives, charcoal and a variety of mark making materials.

Born in Dublin, I've lived in Australia, Britain and numerous counties in Ireland before I settled in Westmeath over 20 years ago.

My inspiration springs daily from the natural beauty of my rural surroundings, flowers, the magnificent lakes and skyscape of North Westmeath.
