Irish artist Rhian Foley, Wexford

I am a secondary school art teacher and printmaker from Co. Wexford, Ireland. In 2016, I graduated with a commendation in the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Fine Art and Visual Culture (Joint Degree) and in 2018, graduated with a 1.1 in the Professional Master of Education (Art and Design) both of which were from the National College of Art and Design, Co.Dublin. I have since continued my studies and am working towards a P.h.D in Art and Design Education, School of Education, NCAD. As part of my research, I have been working with the student art teachers from the School of Education, NCAD.

I have exhibited in a wide range of artwork in various showcases and exhibitions in Ireland such as in the 'Change Lab' development education art exhibition in the NCAD Gallery, Dublin, in the 'Inktober Fest' annual art exhibition, Wicklow Town and in the 'After All' art exhibition in Dinero Fine Arts, Wexford. In May 2017, I was a guest speaker at the Ubuntu Dialogue Day in Dublin and I am currently working on a collaborative art education project with INSEA.

I continue to work as a printmaker and artist. My areas of expertise include drawing and dry-point etching, with a particular focus on portraits. My current artwork explores local areas in the South-East of Ireland, focusing on coastal locations of historical significance.
