Irish artist Rine Philbin, Galway

I was born and grew up on a farm in Co. Galway between Lough Corrib and Lough Mask. It was also close to the sea, Salthill and Connemara. Surrounded by such choice of landscape, waterscapes and woods (Clonbur, Cornamona and Cong) I was in my element. So art was a natural way to express myself, even as a child. I found that no matter where I travelled, I kept that panoramic view in my brain and no where else ever quite compared. I gradually got back into art and the whole world looked different again. Those childhood memories came flooding back, bursting to be painted. There is a never ending reservoir of images, memories and imagination let loose in my art studio every day. The variety is reflected in my love for different mediums. I love oils, watercolours, inks, charcoal and acrylics. I like experimenting and hope to get the chance to do it for a long time to come.
