Irish artist Sarah Boyle, Westmeath

I recently returned to Ireland, to Westmeath from Perthshire, Scotland. I dabbled in oils in my twenties, in Donegal before moving to Dublin, where I studied Interior Design at Griffith College and History of European Painting at TCD.

In Scotland I studied under Charles Harris at Scone Studios and Janet Melrose in Crieff, and am a member of the Society of Scottish Artists.

Working in oils and acrylic, I often use poetry and literature as inspiration for my work, Kavanagh, Rumi, Calvino, Rilke, among others. Current work includes a series of bird paintings inspired by the work of award-winning Photographer, Donal Power from Arklow, with his kind permission.

Showing original Irish art, online and Worldwide (since 2000)
