Born in Dublin in 1959, I struggled to find time to pursue my passion in art while my children were young. It was only when they grew up that I decided to return to education to study graphic art and design. I've always loved to create but painting has always been my main passion. I mainly paint in oils, building up layers, and extracting paint constantly searching for the piece to come together at the same time looking for a greater understanding of my own art practice.
I paint anything from city and rurl landscapes to maybe people interacting in daily life, it's also important that I have a connection to that space.
I like to paint on anything from paper, canvas also on hardwood, the hardwood can be a superior support.
After I relocated to Roscommon, I found more time to devote to my art. Over the past few years my inspiration has come from travelling around Ireland and feeling that connection to both rural and city life as one half of my life was spent in Dublin and the other in Roscommon.
