Irish artist Tom Hogarty, Dublin

In lockdown I decided to change some things, stuff like losing a bit of weight and reducing alcohol intake and also, I took a fancy to making pictures.

I am, by no stretch of even the wildest the imagination, a gifted artist but I have managed to lose several kilos and to hardly drink alcohol at all.

The project is about awareness of the Visual Art that is coming out of Ireland in the present day and, though our presentations represent only a very small amount of what is being produced, I hope that they demonstrate how art is being used in a general way to improve the quality of life here.

The project is about sharing the good stuff that others have produced and to appreciate the talent that abounds around us, the website is designed to be a platform to show off and a place where many can join in and share across the online community, so that the art gets seen and enjoyed.

I'll be taking a step into the background again now, as I am not so good at making art. I'll just stick to doing what I might know something about with the project, what do you think?

Showing original Irish art, online and Worldwide (since 2000)
