Irish artist Trish Rogers, Antrim

I specialize in Bog Oak sculpture with Spalted Beech. Each of my sculptures are unique and develop their form by the removal of all the old and dead wood from the piece of the tree I select. They often develop into a recognisable space as described in the titles, they could be described as abstract but I prefer to call then natural sculptures. They all have Spalted Beech bases which with its' spalting enchances the Bog Oak.

All my work is done by hand and takes a long time due to the density of Bog Oak. I don't over sand the sculptures making then smooth without taking the texture of the wood away. They are all finished in natural oil and beeswax I am based in Aghalee, Northern Ireland and my work has always been inspired by the love of nature.

My sculpture has won an award from the Ulster Society of Woman Artists and I am a member of this Society and also The Arts Society of Ulster.
