Palestinian artist Walid Ayed, Dublin

Walid Ayed is an Irish artist of Palestinian descent, born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon. His work, which covers visual art, photography, film and theatre, draws on his childhood experiences of civil war, as well as his later travels throughout the Middle East, Europe and North America.

Walid finds inspiration in the world's beauty and the gifts that nature offers. Though poverty, war and deprivation prevent many of us from enjoying that beauty and those gifts. Walid believes that each of us has the potential for happiness and fulfilment.

Whether working in photography, film, theatre or visual art, Walid's diverse life experiences provide a deep and rich background to his deceptively simple work. In his art, he attempts to reconcile the injustices of the world and his hopes for the potential of all people. He hopes that his minimalist works can inspire others to explore their artistic potential and express themselves.

Original artwork, online and Worldwide (since 2000)
