These latest works are the product of having a heightened sense of life, beauty and mortality. Life is precious so one hopes this covid thing will soon go away. Take care everyone.
It is very difficult, for me, to paint much during the Covid crises. Plenty of time to paint but no inspiration to do so. Have tried one covid work but so far it is not working. I have left it aside and may go at it again in a couple of months.
Some of the work featured is very recent, for example " Discarding the Past..." This was painted and shown in a group show in the Institute of Technology, Carlow in February. The brief the painters were given was to produce a work influenced by Francis Bacon or abstract artist Taffina Flood.
