Ger Kenny is Limerick painter of portrait and figurative works using traditional methods in oil. Self-taught for many years he has recently studied traditional painting techniques resulting in his own personal style to compliment the classical methods. People are the main subject matter of his work, whether is it a face or a figure they will always have a story to tell. His work is narrative in nature and often will attempt to highlight or protest societal issues.
His work has come to national press attention such as 'The Moral Fiver'
which was featured in the Irish Times among other national news outlets. Ger has
exhibited in group and charity exhibitions including the selection of one of his
portraits for the LAS exhibition in The Hunt Museum which was opened by the
Irish President Michael D Higgins.
