Artist Geraldine Folan, Galway

These paintings are a result of a personal experience of painting on the Salthill prom over the course of a year from August 2015 until August 2016. Salthill is renowned for "the Promenade" and it's beauty is spectacular with amazing views of The Aran Islands, The Burren and The Clare Hills and of course Galway Bay.

I painted in situ on the Prom, throughout the year, in all weathers and at all times of day. My work captures images of the Prom not often represented in the various media, but at the same time is real and in the moment.
