Irish artist Michael Monaghan, Dublin

Michael Monaghan was born in Dublin and began painting at an early age. As a self taught Artist he began life-sketching portraits in his teenage years. As an artist he used his hand drawing skills in conjunction with computer composites for mainly facial work. He retired in 2007 and since then has explored and developed his own Art.

His paintings are noted for their great depth of colour and warmth capturing shifting moods of light and shade. Michael has exhibited his work in various Galleries and Exhibitions in Ireland, including Art Source, Kilkenny Arts Festival and Wexford Opera Festival. He has also exhibited in New York and Dallas USA. His work is represented by many Public and Private collections,including Eircom,the Russian Embassy and many Hotels in Ireland including many of the Great Southern Hotels, Parknasilla, Malton Killarney, Sligo Great Southern, Hardiman Hotel Galway city, and in 2020 The K Club, Co Kildare and also in many collections throughout Europe, USA, Australia and China.
