Polish artist Elwira Bernaciak, Poland and Carlow

I am an artist with passion at heart, I love painting and drawing since I can remember. I was born and raised in Poland and moved to Ireland in 2005 - Carlow town.The first recognition of my love for art was from my Art teacher in primary school. I aspired to high school art for which I passed my artistic exams with a very good result. Unfortunately, I did not decide to be educated in this school. My life turned to other tracks. As I began creating again, I was struck with the idea of setting up and teaching art classes for adults.From March 2015, I'm the head of my company BElwiraArtCrafts, and as a tutor for relaxing art workshops under the Kilkenny and Carlow Education and Training Board in Ireland. Acrylic painting on canvas is my primary medium. I working in modes of abstraction and expressionism rushes, in my painting you can see the variety and the lack of repetition. I'm an innovative and intuitive artist. My artwork reflects someone who thinks outside the box and are not conformed to or restrained by any conventional way of thinking process. This makes me a non-copy artist. Painting is a passion that turned into work. My philosophy is 'Art comes from the heart, thought, eyes and guides the hand of the artist'. Inspiration can be found in all aspects of our life. I am in constant search of new fulfilling projects. My artwork is created from personal experiences and emotions those experiences caused inside me. I express this by using a variety of mediums and using palette knife ,hands, brushes, etc. to get the desired effect and texture. I am intrigued by playing with colours and the movement of the body. I like to paint human emotions that can be seen in the portraits made by my hand.

I admire works by artists such as J. Pollock, E. Munch and S. Dali, their ability to express their own emotions in painting. My first artwork exhibition took place in Carlow in 2015.It has been a great joyful and emotional time for me. In February 2017 I organized another exhibition in Carlow Library , Limerick Dooradoyle library 2017 and I took part of Bowie festival at studios10 Dublin in 2017. In 2018 I did few weeks exhibition "Reflective Art of Time", Carlow Library. Also my artworks were presented in Tullow, Gorey, Greystones, Wicklow and Kilkenny. I took part and co-organized the Fringe Art Festival in Carlow Town in June 2018. Currently in an ongoing cooperation with ArtBank Gallery in Bunclody where I displayed a few of my artworks and I also had two exhibitions, one solo and another family art show. In July 2018 two of my paintings will be presented at the prestigious Festival Art3f in Cannes.
